HTML Or Wordpress

The top benefit of a good website is that it provides another avenue for customers and prospects to find your company. Having a good website shows professionalism and provides customers and prospects with an easy way to engage and share your business online. In essence, your website is available and ready to promote you when you are not.

If you run a local business, regardless of your geographic target area, you’d better be thinking online, social and mobile. The first component – and perhaps the most essential – of this strategy is your company website.

Here the really problem arises when one ventures to get a website for his business or company. Apparently coming to a final decision on what method to use to create tha planned website maybe a mayhem.

So, by now, you might be convinced of the importance of having a website for your local business. But, how do you go about designing one whether wordpress or HTML? Here are some differences to keep in mind during the creation of your business’s site to help ensure which one of this two you'll use.

  DIFFERENCES BETWEEN WORDPRESS AND HTML

WordPress is a content management system (CMS). A content management system, often abbreviated as CMS, is software that helps users create, manage, and modify content on a website without the need for specialized technical knowledge. In simpler language, a content management system is a tool that helps you build a website without needing to write all the code from scratch (or even know how to code at all).
WordPress is one such system. It allows its users to create their content the way they like and publish it on their website. HTML is a markup language that allows for static page creation on the web. Websites use HTML and other such markup languages to host web content.  One must need coding skills to use HTML for website creation. Apart from HTML, CSS, JavaScript and other languages are also used for the same.

Key Differences

  1. No coding skill required in WordPress while in HTML Coding skill is a must. Rather, one should be a pro-coder to create a highly engaging website.
  2. Additional plug-ins can be added to make it more powerful in wordpress whereas in HTML Additional programming skill, other tools and language like CSS are needed to make it more dynamic and powerful.
  3. From time to time, maintenance might be needed if anything is changed in WordPress. HTML requires very little maintenance, particularly with static content.
  4. Thousands of already created templates are available in WordPress. In HTML everything needs to be created from scratch.
  5. As everything is so easy in WordPress, it has a very poor learning curve, particularly if one wants to learn to code. In HTML programmers/coders always learn new skills and improve them as they create their own stuff; it also gives a chance to stand different from the crowd. You can design whatever you like.
  6. The cost of hosting the website is relatively high in WordPress. In HTML, it is relatively cheaper to maintain the website.
  7. Wordpress is slower out-of-the-box because requires more server resources. HTML on the other hand is faster out-of-the-box because it requires less server resources.

Summary

By looking at the above facts, one can conclude that WordPress is certainly a good choice to go for, and probably that is the reason so many websites are using it. But that’s not the ultimate truth; the ultimate question that one should ask oneself before making a choice is the actual use case. While it is good to go for WordPress in case of a personal website, lightweight corporate websites, but for large projects the situation becomes entirely different, and in that case, we would need to consider hundreds of factors and most likely need to go with custom web development using backend and front-end tools and frameworks.
